Tank Rotation Scheme for heated dip tanks

A steel pipe manufacturing client had a single dip tank used in its manufacturing process. Two different heated chemical dips are used and periodically they have to switch between the two chemicals. This switch required shutting down the line, draining the tank of one chemical and filling with the other, then heating the new chemical to the correct temperature. This resulted in shutting down the production line for a complete shift. Clark Engineers was engaged to perform a feasibility and geometric study of the area and process to have two continually heated tanks that could be physically switched out in a short amount of time.
