Above Ground PE Tank and Exoskeleton

The client engaged Clark Engineers for structural engineering support for the redesign of their product line due to past failures. The structure is a plastic tank inside a portable steel exoskeleton.

There is gap between the tank and the exoskeleton which allows the tank to deform slightly. The tank was designed for the applied internal loads, creep and allowed for the aforementioned deformation. Both the tank and the exoskeleton were optimized to reduce for the varying to provide best cost-performance option.
