Sliding Table (for maintenance access)

A sliding table was required for very tight geometric constraints, to provide safe access to a piece of equipment. This allowed for movement of surrounding equipment and to provide a safe work platform for the operator. Previously, the operator would have to climb on top of motors and equipment with a sledge hammer to periodically loosen steel scraps. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, much of the equipment was greasy, which added to the safety concerns. Clark Engineers was engaged to design a platform that the operator could safely work from but that would also retract out of the way when not in use. Clark Engineers took detailed measurements of all of the surrounding equipment and designed a movable structure that provided the safe access while not impeding the normal manufacturing process.
