Redesign of existing steel building

A client contacted Clark Engineers to check the design of a restaurant/truck stop under construction. The existing building consisted of two buildings built at different times with two cables each of different construction types. The client desired to replace the two cable roof with a single cable. The contractor attempted to do this without proper design and it was rejected by the local building code inspector. Based on a thorough investigation and analysis, it was found that this did not satisfy the building code and was inadequate.

Clark Engineers designed modifications to bring the building up current to code while using as much of the existing structure as possible to help control the costs.
