Bulkhead Failures

Lake level drop caused load to at least double on this bulkhead causing catastrophic failure by snapping the bulkhead piles. Cost of repairs were estimated to be about $90,000.00. Had the owner sought help sooner, repairs could have been much lower.

Relatively steep slope adjacent to large house became saturated after Hurricane Harvey causing grossly under designed bulkhead design to fail. The Bulkhead was originally straight, bowed outward about 2 ½ feet over 97 feet. This caused a slope failure potentially jeopardizing the house foundation.

Design of repairs included much deeper steel bulkhead using soldier piles.
