Immediate need:
Looking for Mechanical Design Engineer with large equipment trouble shooting and redesign experience and capabilities.

  • 10 to 20 yrs exp preferred. PE preferred.  
  • Solid Works, ACAD, Pro Engineer, or other Three D packages a super plus.

Project basis assignments for our client, a Local Manufacturer in greater Houston area, through Clark Engineers.

Description / Requirements

Structural Engineering Position

  • Experience: Entry to Sr. Engineer
  • Rate: Commensurate with experience, education, and abilities
  • Desire a minimum of Bachelors degree in civil or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university. Mechanical engineers must be able to work in soils, foundations, concrete, and steel and take necessary undergraduate course work as appropriate.
  • Desire ability to use AutoCAD and be able to do own drawings when necessary
  • Desire ability use numerical methods for data analysis and for problem solving
  • Advanced degrees are desirable. 
  • Those with BS/MS degrees in mathematicsor physicsand with interest in structural engineering applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  Those interested in perusing an advanced degree in structural engineering are encouraged to respond.
  • Undergraduate students with at least one course in strength of materials will be considered on a case-by case basis.
  • Must be fluent in English with excellent grammar and ability to write reports that are thorough and understandable to our clients.
  • Desire greater Houston area resident (within 25- to 35-mile radius preferred) but will consider other candidates.

The perfect candidate will have an MS degree in structural mechanics with emphasis in plates and shells, advanced strength of materials, reinforced composites, soil structure interaction, advanced foundation design, finite element analysis, numerical methods, plus a good working knowledge in steel design, reinforced concrete design, timber design, and foundation design, and have excellent report writing skills.

Sr. engineers must have PE license and be familiar with MATHCAD or be able to learn quickly and have strong skills in general structural engineering in all normal areas as well as FEA, advanced strength of materials methods, numerical methods, and testing methods, strain gage knowledge is a plus.

New graduates and minimally experienced engineers must have a strong desire to learn and be able to contribute quickly.  Must be able to obtain engineering license (PE) in Texas within two to eight years, depending on education and experience level.

CAD Position/ Field Technician

  • Experience: Entry to Sr. Designer
  • Rate: Commensurate with experience, education, and abilities
  • Will be required to do field measurements for foundations and structures
  • HS Diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred
  • Good math skills and spreadsheet knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, able to read and write grammatically correct in English.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Desire previous experience in structural drawing and detailing: steel, concrete, timber, and foundations.
  • Entry-levelcandidates considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience: Entry level to 2 yrs experience
  • Rate: Commensurate with experience, education, and abilities
  • Languages: C++, Visual Basic, other engineering languages.
  • Minimum HS diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred
  • Excellent ability for take program specifications and develop useful programs that are marketable to structural engineers.
  • Will consider engineers with excellent programming ability.
